After high school, most people would choose to attend college, and the college experiences will be completely different. When I first attended college, I was shocked by facing a lot of challenges and struggles that I thought I could get over with my eyes closed. As an upcoming sophomore college student, I am here to share with you the things that I would do if I could go back to the time before college, based on real experiences.

Taking my studying seriously.
In college, the lectures were going too fast to meet the tentative schedules, and students were asked to spend times outside the classroom to study. Moreover, I procrastinated the lessons until the 2 days before exams. Cramming was my only choice, and it wasn't a good way to prepare for exam as my results weren't always pretty. Thus, my GPA was affected, which limited my chance to transfer to one of the top universities like UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, etc. I could not travel back to fix my past, but focusing on the future, What I needed to is taking my study seriously. During my summer classes, I created my own schedules and set my goals so that not only kept me stay organized, but also motivated me to achieve my best. At the end, my scores got better so that I could enhance my GPA.
Focusing on developing self-confidence.
College is like a beginning journey to adults' life, and various challenges may happen. In order to go through, having self-confidence (not in an arrogant way) is crucial for winning the games. When you are struggling in something, and you are about to feel so unmotivated, you would image yourself as a useless, or hopeless. Back then, I often felt myself hopeless when having a bad grade or making mistakes during my first year. It wasn't until I learned that I need to overcome my fear and think positively so that everything would go well. And it was true, I made it. I ever got 100/100 on my exam. If I can make it, you can make it, too. Practice thinking positively!
Networking with the others.
College is where you are getting prepare for your future careers. In today world, networking plays an important role in welcoming you a world of opportunities. I have lived a life with a lot of regrets due to skip any growing opportunities. I wished I could understand the power of networking earlier. Attending the professors' office hours, joining the clubs, getting involved in Student Government, engaging in interact with the others help you develop your skills as networking, which can enhance you moving forward to internship, and jobs.
